Look Good While Aging

FNo one is immune to it: time and age will take its toll on the appearance of your skin and face. Your face will begin to develop wrinkles it has never had before and your skin will lose its elasticity and start drooping and sagging. There simply is no escaping it. However, there have been developments in technology, specifically in plastic surgery technology, that has allowed humans to turn back the clock on the effects of the aging process.

There are a couple of different types of procedures available to fix any problems or flaws that appear on your skin and face as you get older: surgical cosmetic procedures and non-surgical/non-invasive cosmetic procedures. Although getting a surgical cosmetic procedure is a more long-term fix than non-surgical cosmetic procedures, surgical cosmetic procedures inherently carry the risks associated with any type of surgery- such as, complications with anesthesia or blood clots- and are more time consuming and more expensive in just about every aspect in comparison to non-surgical procedure.
Most surgical procedures are at least an hour to an hour and a half long, with an inpatient hospital stay of a couple of days for observation, and weeks and months of recovery time needed post-op. They also usually cost anywhere from the mid-to-upper thousands of dollars. In contrast, non-surgical procedures, such as Botox for Bruxism West Hollywood, are significantly more affordable and are much less time-consuming. The great majority of nonsurgical procedures like Botox are strictly outpatient procedures, requiring only a fraction of the time associated with surgical cosmetic procedures, with little to no recovery time needed after the procedure.

These obvious advantages of nonsurgical cosmetic surgery are perhaps most evidently depicted within cosmetic procedure trends. While the total amount of surgical cosmetic procedures rose by 699,332 procedures between 1997 and 2011 (939,192 surgical cosmetic procedures were performed in 1997 and 1,638,524 surgical cosmetic procedures were performed in 2011), the total amount of nonsurgical cosmetic procedures rose by much more between 1997 and 2011: 6,815,235 (740,751 nonsurgical cosmetic procedures were performed in 1997 and 7,555,986 nonsurgical cosmetic procedures were performed in 2011). In other words, the demand for nonsurgical cosmetic procedures has grown about nine times faster than the demand for surgical cosmetic procedures in a period of fourteen years.
Of the top 5 nonsurgical procedures performed in 2011, three were facial procedures: Botox, Hyaluronic Acid, and Microdermabrasion. Botox is a purified protein that is injected into under the skin in order to smooth out wrinkles, while Hyaluronic Acid, such as Juvederm and Radiesse, are Dermal Fillers Los Angeles that are used to restore facial volume and promote a softer, more youthful appearance. When Botox injections are used in conjunction with dermal fillers, optimum results are often produced: reducing the appearance of deep wrinkles, fine lines, and creases and restoring the plumpness and volume of the face creates a much truer representation of youth.
